Now that I have some time I'd thought i would give some insight to terminology in this sport. There are misconceptions that just because you look like your in shape you can step on stage. Well it's not that easy in order to achieve that look of "dryness, shredded etc... appearance We follow very strict diets, we will no carb until our skin is thin, train when you feel like you physically can't and this protocol will begin from 20 wks - 12 wks out from a projected show date depending on where your body is at. The name of the game is basically getting your body to go totally against nature by Losing as much body fat Without losing muscle. "Carb Depletion" is getting your body to reduce glycogen stores and muscles flatten in order to get the body to tap into fat for fuel. Below in the right pick my muscles are depleted (think of them like balloons with no air) but I'm nice and vascular. So "peaking" for the stage is a process that occurs the week of the show now that our body fat is at an ultimate low level it's time to inflate the balloons (muscle bellies) and rid the body of the subcutaneous water (fluid on top of the muscle) it's a process of carbing up and basically dehydrating yourself. This is a critical point that can make or break your stage presence..... Yes after all that work it can be destroyed in a matter of moments. So my comment before about messing up my peak and coming in flat and soft is because through a mistake but also a very costly learning experience my body is very sensitive to sodium and I ended retaining water instead of losing hence giving me that "pudge in my stomach and smooth look, lack of of lines and overall fullness. People often make comments about "oh just have a little bite it's not going to hurt you" At this level of conditioning you literally see an immediate response to how your body is processing the food to interrupt that process of 100% dedication is NOT worth it. After getting so much positive feedback on my physique from pros I'm confident I have a pro package... So time to digest and game plan for the next move with @military_project #focused #fitspo #goals
